It’s been some time since we last heard from Drastic’s French contingent, but fear not, this Demonstrator has been busy working away behind the scenes with some exciting updates to be shared in the coming months!
Drastic’s French Demonstrator aims to prove the potential for the reusability of interior space plan products, such as ceiling tiles and partition walls, in an office retrofit.

Although these products are often designed for reuse, they are mostly landfilled, missing a crucial opportunity to increase circularity and reduce carbon emissions across the European built environment via their reuse.
The national reuse rate for construction products in France today is less than 1%. Drastic’s French demonstrator aims to change this, by identifying a circular business model that allows for the fast market uptake of circular, reusable office space plan interiors.
So far, French project partners Clipper Coramine, Saint-Gobain Eurocoustic France, Saint-Gobain Solution France, Saint-Gobain Research Paris and ICADE have been working to harvest both wall partitions and ceiling tiles from office locations in Paris, France.

This process includes the dismantling and testing of the harvested items, as well as a full refurbishing operation to prepare them for their next life and reinstallation into a new office environment.
Stay tuned as exciting news from this dynamic Demonstrator is shared in the coming months, as the first steps of product reinstallation begin.
